Angie Rawls
has been a choral director in the Pearl Public School district for 19 years. She was recently named the Director of Choral Activities at Pearl High School where she directs Pearl Singers, Pearl Chamber Singers, Pearl Women’s Chorus, Pearl Men’s Glee, and various ensembles. She serves as accompanist for several choral groups, as well as directing the pit orchestra for the annual Pearl High School musical production.
Angie has had the privilege of serving as a clinician for mass choirs in the great state of Mississippi, and also as an adjudicator in the southeastern United States. She holds the Bachelor of Music degree from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS, and the Master of Music Education degree from Mississippi College in Clinton. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher.
Angie is an active member Mississippi Music Educators Association and American Choral Directors Association. She currently serves as Mississippi ACDA Treasurer.
Angie’s husband, Peyton Rawls, is very musical and they have two equally musical children, Jaron and Melody.
Tommy Creel
is in his second year of teaching in the Pearl Public School District as the Assistant Choral Director. Tommy came to Pearl from Crossgates Baptist Church where he served full-time as Music and Worship Ministry Associate for 17 years. Tommy assists Angie Rawls at Pearl High School and Sarah Little at Pearl Junior High. His primary responsibilities are with Freshmen Concert Singers, Freshmen Sextet, Ladies Chorale, and one 6th grade Treble 1 choir and 7th and 8th grade Boys. He assists Mrs. Rawls at PHS with Pearl Singers, Pearl Chamber Singers, Varsity Women’s Chorus, Men’s Glee, Varsity Sextet, Mixed Ensemble and coordinates technical services for the PHS Performing Arts Center. Tommy assists Mrs. Little at PJH with Pearl Junior High Singers, Belle Chanson, Jolie Chanson, and Boys’ Chorale. Tommy is honored to be a part of such an esteemed legacy of great choral music and the fine arts at Pearl.
Tommy grew up in Prentiss, Mississippi and graduated from Prentiss High School. He received two degrees from Mississippi College: the Bachelor of Music Degree in Church Music, Organ Performance; the Master of Music Degree in Choral and Instrumental Conducting.
Tommy is blessed to be married to his beautiful and talented wife, Gigi. They cherish their 5+ years together.
